Movable pickup

A pickup system which can be moved along the scale length and tilted to fine tune your tone. Hard design I know but doable. A rail mounted on a stand in the original pickup hole that the pickup can slide along and tilt then be locked in place.

Hi This kind of idea was done by Wilkes guitars in the mid '80s and revived again in 2009 http://wilkesguitars.co.uk/instruments/the-answer/ Good luck!

Dan Armstrong had a movable pup guitar, cool concept, not sure how it would work as a retro fit though.

Imagine that in a general purpose strat, with that swimming pool routing. The rail would fit in there and the pickup wpuld move along. The only problem would be a decent idea for the pickguard, because no one wants to see the insides of the guitar, and the pickguard would normally have a huge ""hole"" for the pickpicku go across the rails...
